Worst.service.ever

Yummy House has great food. It also has the worst service I've ever had here in Tampa. Every time I've gone there, I've had consistently the worst service I have ever had in any restaurant ever. The waiters at Yummy House run around the restaurant in panics even though the restaurant may only have about 5 or 6 tables full between two servers. Every time we've eaten there, its taken us two hours from start to finish; ordering drinks and food, receiving said items, and paying. That is unacceptable.

All of us at GnAtv have cooked or served in restaurants. I have been a dishwasher, cook, server and bus boy in restaurants. I know what its like work in the industry. The service at Yummy House is simply the worst I have ever had for no reason other than laziness. I don't get upset if I have to wait a little bit to get my water refilled, especially if its busy. I do, however, get mad when I have to wait 40 minutes to order because three servers ignore me. It's a damn shame. I'd like to say Yummy House is my favorite Chinese food in Tampa. The food is excellent. The service stinks so much I can't recommend Yummy House to anyone.

We were gonna shoot an episode at Yummy House and we were very excited about it. Every time we went back to check it out, we waited so long for our food and we were ignored by the same waiters who gave us such looks of disdain that I will proudly scream from the highest mountain top to go to China Yuan (which I've never been to) or Chopstix (which I haven't been to since management changed.)

I've been food poisoned at Panchero's and wrote a blog about it. Someone from Panchero's responded immediately and convinced me since that they at least care about their customers. I would eat a thousand poisoned burritos before I go back to Yummy House.

I don't know if the owner of Yummy House cares about food or customers. Its clear his/her employees do not. It was the first time we've never left a tip. Maybe one day Yummy House will get servers who know what they are doing. When that day comes, I will gladly eat there as often as I can. Until that day, I can never in good conscience recommend a restaurant like this.

Maybe it's our fault for not acting like asshole customers. I doubt that though.

Summary for the busy executive: Go to China Yuan for great chinese food.
