The battle of New York

Monday was pizza day for Chris and I.

We had lunch at the Best New York Pizza joint on Dale Mabry. You know when you're at this restaurant because you'll see the title "Best New York Pizza" located all around you. It's on cardboard signs, mini vans, framed pictures. It's everywhere. I wouldn't be surprised if it was even on the owner's license plate. I went with the NY Choice. For $6.79, I received 2 specialty pizza slices, 1 garlic knot and 1 can of soda. With so much hype, you can only expect "the best", right? Unfortunately, I wasn't sold. I've had better pizza in my time. And the garlic knot wasn't much better. Lucky for me, I didn't have to wait long until I had a great slice. Later that day, the two of us stopped at Cappy's Pizzeria. It's located on Florida ave. You can either get the New York or the Chicago style. Because this was the battle of New York, we went with the NY style once again. We ordered a 16" cheese for $10.50. It was very delicious. The crust was really soft and the sauce was tangy and flavorful. I also enjoyed how the restaurant looked. It's full of antiques. The Woody and barbie dolls inside the tables are a little creepy though. I might write a letter to the two company's and suggest they exchange names.
