Philly Phlava

I finally got a chance to try Philly Phlava today. I went with Josh, who is more qualified to judge these than me. I have never been to Philadelphia so I've never had the chance to try a real philly sandwich. I have eaten quite a few in the area, so I can base my opinion on what I've eaten here.

We ate at the Philly Phlava on Dale Mabry and Fletcher. It's in the back of the shopping center next to a Five Guys and a hair salon. The walls are covered in hockey gear and different sport team flags, such as the Rays and the Flyers. It's kind of what you would expect from a place like this. There are two other locations: Town N Country and St Pete Times Ice Forum.

The sandwich was a little smaller than I would have liked but overall it was pretty enjoyable. I liked the roll especially. The meat and cheese were gooey and sticky, like it should be. I thought the onions and peppers were cooked nicely, but I'm pretty sure the mushrooms were canned. I sometimes eat mushrooms out of the can, so that's a plus for me. Does anyone else eat mushrooms out of the can? The ones from Vietnam are way better than the ones from Indonesia. There are tons of sandwiches, burgers and fried foods which I didn't get to try.

Westshore Pizza has an identical tasting philly which is also larger in size. They both cost around the same price. Don't get me wrong, it was a good philly. I think I will stick to Westshore Pizza though for that particular sandwich
